I have just returned from a fantastic tournament hosted by Scotland. The four home countries were playing each other across 7 age groups. I was on the medical team for England looking after the women's 35's and senior Mixed teams. Touch is a fast pace game with a rugby rule background. Although it is a minimal contact sport there were a fair few injuries across the 3 day tournament.
It was a very different environment from working in a clinic, as you sometimes see the injury happen and you have to manage and treat the injury in it's acute stage. Working alongside other medical professionals in this environment gave me a great opportunity to increase my knowledge and learn new rehab and taping techniques to bring back to the clinic.
